There is Raymarine auto pilot system for nearly all leisure vessels, from small mechanically steered boats to large hydraulically steered vessels using engine driven hydraulic systems.
For small vessels there are system packs, "an autopilot in a box" for mechanically and hydraulically steered vessels the S1 system packs are listed below. 3. Core pack.
A "CorePack" is the heart of the system. The main component is the course computer (brain) there are two types of course computer. Standard and Rate Gyro (G) The rate gyro allows for more advanced steering controls to be applied. In addition the the course computer all the core packs includes a fluxgate heading sensor and a rudder feed back sensor.
